Artifice is a 2 – 4 player table-top game.
As a game designer, I worked with other team members to create the game concept and the core game mechanics. Along with it, I developed one-fourth of the Artifice cards. I also created all the 3D models for the game prototype and did the illustrations for all the Artifice cards.
The objective of the game is to score the highest points. Each player has their chosen colored marble and a designated home tile. They need to move their marbles to their home tile and then to the collection cup. A move involves placing a marble to the adjacent empty slot or jumping over an enemy marble to the adjacent empty spot which destroys the enemy marble. Each collected marble is worth one point. The player with the highest points wins the game.
The Artifice Cards bring the most excitement in the game. They are picked up before every turn and alter the gameplay, sometimes for the player who picked up the card or sometimes for all the players. The effect can be positive, neutral or negative.
